A total of 59 department heads of the coastal municipalities of Bauang, Caba, Aringay, Agoo, Rosario and Sto. Tomas in the Province of La Union completed the Webinar Series on Environmental Governance for Local Government Units Department Heads which ran for 15 days, starting December 1, 2020 and ending January 19, 2021.

Environmental Justice Sector Reform in the Philippines Project

The Webinar Series seeks to further strengthen the capacity of the local government units (LGUs) on different environmental and natural resources management approaches and technology, and basic environmental laws. The participants finished 14 modules which provided them knowledge and skills that they can apply in their respective work for the enhancement of the resource management strategies in their municipalities.

A part of the Environmental Justice Sector Reform in the Philippines Project Phase 2 (EJSRP 2), this activity was implemented through the partnership of the Institute of Environmental Governance in Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University, the Department of the Interior and Local Government, the Provincial Government of La Union, and Tanggol Kalikasan, and was funded by the US Department of State Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs and the United States Department of the Interior - International Technical Assistance Program.
