An Environmental Law Enforcement Training conducted under the Darwin Initiative through Mabuwaya Foundation, Inc (MFI) in partnership with Tanggol Kalikasan, Inc. The training and workshops were conducted in the Municipality of San Mariano, Isabela on August 31 to September 2, 2022 and in the Municipality of Baggao, Cagayan dated September 27-29, 2022.

The training aims to: 1. provide refresher on the pertinent provision of Wildlife Conservation and Protection Act of 2001 and other related environmental laws; 2. train men and women participants on the procedural laws promulgated by the Supreme Court on arrest, search, seizure/confiscation and detention, evidence, evidence gathering and preservation, legal forms and judicial affidavits; and 3. develop management plans for locally conserved areas including a patrolling and monitoring scheme. Other participants were oriented on the basic environmental laws that need to be enforced to protect the Northern Sierra Madre Natural Park (NSMNP).

Participants in the ELET training and workshops were carefully selected by the barangay officials of their respective barangays, respective Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officers (MENRO), Philippine National Police, Philippine Army, community volunteers, and indigenous peoples such as Katutubong Agta.
