Lucena City and Agdangan, Quezon Province – A four-day project monitoring and focus group discussion (FGD) was held from August 28 to 31, 2024, to assess the progress and impact of the Governance in Justice (GoJust) project, funded by the European Union.

Participants from Tanggol Kalikasan, GoJust Grants, and various local government units (LGUs) gathered in Lucena City and Agdangan to review project files, evaluate milestones, and gather feedback from key stakeholders. Representatives from the Municipal Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Management Councils (MFARMCs), Integrated Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Management Councils (IFARMCs), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), youth organizations, Tanggol Kalikasan Institute (TNIQUE), Bantay Dagat, trained Kalicaster volunteers, Municipal Special Operations Groups (MSKs), and 2mindig Production were also involved in the FGDs.
The activities included a thorough review of project finances and administrative matters, an assessment of milestone reports and monitoring sheets, and interviews with project administrators and finance staff to understand the challenges and lessons learned during implementation.

Focus group discussions were conducted to gather feedback from LGUs, fisherfolk, youth, church representatives, and other stakeholders on how the GoJust project has benefited their communities. Additionally, site visits were conducted to project areas in Tayabas Bay to observe project activities firsthand and exchange feedback between GoJust Grants and Tanggol Kalikasan. During the focus group discussions, participants enthusiastically expressed their knowledge and support for Tanggol Kalikasan's initiatives. Tanggol Kalikasan served as facilitators and technical support throughout the activity.

After monitoring the project for four days, Mika Macayan from GoJust Grants shared the assessment and that Tanggol Kalikasan passed the implementation of the project under Governance in Justice funded by the European Union.

The insights gained from these activities will be used to inform future project implementation and ensure that the GoJust project continues to effectively address the needs of its target beneficiaries and contribute to sustainable development in the region.
