August 20–22, 2025 | Carlito’s Inn, Casiguran, Aurora
To strengthen the management skills of community-based organizations, Institute for Environmental Governance of Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) and Tanggol Kalikasan (TK), serving as the Aurora Landscape NGO Hub, organized a three-day Capacity-Building Workshop for SGP-7 Grantees on August 20–22, 2025, at Carlito’s Inn, Casiguran, Aurora.
Attended by 44 participants—28 women and 16 men—representing grantee organizations under the Small Grants Programme (SGP-7), the training focused on sessions in organizational development and leadership. Participants revisited their group’s vision and goals, discussed teamwork and communication, and explored ways to strengthen accountability and coordination within their organizations, gender and development (GAD) and project management. Training included developing project proposals and monitoring plans, documentation and reporting, financial management and internal control systems, bookkeeping, BIR and SEC compliance, and financial reporting. These sessions emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in handling project funds.
By the end of the workshop, participants produced draft project proposals and financial plans, showcasing their improved capacity to manage community projects effectively and sustainably.
The training not only enhanced their technical and leadership skills but also strengthened their commitment to good governance and environmental stewardship in their respective communities.
