Tanggol Kalikasan, Inc. (TK), through the SCENERI Project, conducted a Consensus Building Training on February 16-19, 2026 at Malachi Hotel and Resort, with support from the Local Government Unit of Polillo. The activity was attended by 33 participants composed of representatives from various sectors and partner organizations.
The training was conducted to strengthen the governance and collaborative management of Local Conservation Areas (LCAs) by enhancing participants’ knowledge and skills in conflict management, facilitation, negotiation, consensus-building, and effective communication. It also provided a venue for participants to assess the current status of the LCAs, identify management issues and concerns, develop shared visions and management objectives, and discuss appropriate actions to address identified concerns.

The activity included sessions on environmental laws and policies, conflict and dispute resolution mechanisms, communication and meeting management, biodiversity conservation, visioning exercises, and action planning. An initial consultation on the Manual of Procedure for LCA Councils and Management Committees was likewise conducted to support effective governance processes and stakeholder coordination.

The training concluded with the identification of priority actions and recommendations to strengthen coordination among stakeholders, provide continuing technical support, and monitor the implementation of agreed action plans for the sustainable management of the Polillo Local Conservation Areas.
