The Province of Quezon is considered as a "Mangrove Haven of the Philippines" due to the high survival rate of more than two-million propagules that were mass-planted along its coastal areas since June 2012. In this first half of their podcast on mangrove forests in Quezon, Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) shares the current status of such ecosystem in the Province, its challenges and the initiatives of local government units to protect them.

This episode is produced by the Institute of Environmental Governance in SLSU; Written and directed by Brian D. Villaverde, Khristalyn V. Fraginal and Shiela M. Manzanilla.

Wildlife Philippines is an initiative under the Partnership for Biodiversity Conservation 3 of Tanggol Kalikasan and is being supported by the USAID and the US DOI-ITAP.
