Wildlife Philippines

Wildlife Philippines talks about ecosystems, animal and plant species, and environmental issues in different parts of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. It is a collaborative podcast channel of more than 20 Institutes of Environmental Governance which aimed to provide educational trivia and important facts about biodiversity conservation and wildlife protection, an excellent learning aid for teachers and students. Wildlife Philippines is an initiative under the Partnership for Biodiversity Conservation 3 of Tanggol Kalikasan and is being supported by the USAID and the US Department of the Interior, International Technical Assistance Program.

Bohol Tarsiers

Growing only 4-5 inches, Bohol tarsiers are one of the smallest primates in the world. Their eyes are larger than its brain and they are nocturnal animals. Unfortunately, they are a near threatened species which population continues to decrease. In their first podcast together, Visayas State University (VSU) and Holy Name University (HNU) collaborated in sharing a journey in the world of Bohol tarsiers and encouraging the youngs to protect them.

Let's Talk About Frogs

It is a reality that the number of frogs in the environment is decreasing/diminishing. Recently, dengue cases have been increasing. It is important to raise awareness on the balance in our ecosystem and why frogs are important to maintain this balance. Father Saturnino Urios State University (FSUU) and Ateneo De Davao University (AdDU) worked together in presenting frogs as indicator species which measures the health of the environment.

Growing Shade Podcast on Nueva Vizcaya Biodiversity (Part 2)

Mangrove Forests in Quezon Province (Part 2)

A comprehensive study on Quezon mangroves forests in 2018 found out that there are twenty-two true mangrove species in Calauag and Alabat Island. The most threatened mangrove species are Gapas-gapas or Camptostemon Philippinensis and Piapi or Avicennia Marina var. Rumphiana. In this second half of their podcast on mangrove forests in Quezon, Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) talks about trivia on mangrove biodiversity in the Province. They are joined by experts from the University of the Philippines Los Baños and University of the Philippines Diliman.
