In a three-day CSO Summit held in Puerto Princesa Palawan on March 1-3, big wigs in the civic organizations, non-government offices, people’s organizations, fisherfolk cooperatives and academes come together and commit to protect the West Philippine Sea through a ceremonial hand painting signing.

August-September 2022

An Environmental Law Enforcement Training conducted under the Darwin Initiative through Mabuwaya Foundation, Inc (MFI) in partnership with Tanggol Kalikasan, Inc. The training and workshops were conducted in the Municipality of San Mariano, Isabela on August 31 to September 2, 2022 and in the Municipality of Baggao, Cagayan dated September 27-29, 2022.

A week of gathering on January 16-20, 2023 in a workshop and training of representatives from Philippine Law Enforcement Agencies with speakers from countries such as Australia, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, America and Europe. The joint training aims to strengthen the campaign on the suppression of Illegal wildlife trade and transnational organized crime conducted in the city of Puerto Princesa in the province of Palawan.

Certificate of Recognitions were awarded by Tanggol Kalikasan (TK) to the Municipality of Sariaya, Quezon, and the City of Lucena, both local government unit partners of TK, located in Tayabas and Pagbilao Bays.

PALAWAN - Six municipalities namely Agutaya, Cagayanciillo, Cullion, Kalayaan, Rizal and San Vicente all from the province of Palawan implemented the Area Specific Action Plan or ASAP under Environmental Justice Sector Reform Program (EJSRP) of Tanggol Kalikasan Inc., with the support from the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) and US-Department of State and International Technical Affairs (USDOI-ITAP) in partnership with Western Philippines University and Palawan State University.

July - November 2020

5 Basic Wildlife Law Enforcement (BWLE) capacity building trainings were conducted virtually under DENR-ADB/GEF Project “Combating Environmental Organized Crime in the Philippines in partnership with Tanggol Kalikasan on Regions 7, 13 and National Capital Region (NCR) from July to November 2020. The said trainings were participated by a total of 330 trainees from the DENR and partner government agencies of the said regions.

November 2022

The Port Assessment cum Capacity Building for Port of Subic Bay were conducted by DENR-BMB in partnership with Tanggol Kalikasan (TK) on Port of Subic Bay from November 9-11, 2022 at Subic Bay Peninsular Hotel, Subic, Zambales. The activity was part of TK’s programmatic approach which is support to Environmental Law Enforcement. The said port assessment was participated by government agencies led by DENR Region 3 and other partner government agencies of the region.

In celebration of the upcoming World Turtle Day, Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU), through its Institute of Environmental Governance (IEG), hosted the third IEG Digital Caravan in La Union with the theme “Engaging Communities in Saving the Pawikans in La Union” on May 19, which was attended by almost three hundred teachers and students via Zoom and Facebook Live.
