According to reports, the Philippines is the third largest tuna producer, but their stocks continue to decline due to climate change and unsustainable and illegal fishing.

General Nakar, Quezon - 20 families of the Dumagat Tribe were the beneficiaries during the relief operations conducted by Tanggol Kalikasan Inc., on December 7, 2020. Dumagat Community, which has been a partner community of Tanggol Kalikasan since 2006, were among those who suffered and whose homes were damaged due to the onslaught of typhoon Ulysses.

100 families of fishermen located in Cabusap, Camarines Norte were given boat repair kits which includes marine plywood, copper nails and epoxy to rebuild their fishing boats on December 4 and 5, during Mini Ahon's First Wave conducted by Tanggol Kalikasan Inc., in partnership with Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR). Tanggol Kalikasan Inc.'s Mini Ahon initiative aims to provide basic materials for the repairs of fishing boats which were damaged during the recent typhoon Ulyssess to help fishers get back on their feet and return to their livelihoods.
Food security advocacy group Tugon Kabuhayan today (February 8, 2021) welcomed the creation of a Subtask Group (STG) on Aquaculture and Fisheries by the IATF Task Group on Food Security chaired by Agriculture Secretary William Dar.
